June 24, 2015 – San Bernardino, CA The Inland Valley Development Agency Board and the San Bernardino International Airport Authority Commission appointed Michael Burrows as Executive Director to serve over both agencies during a special joint meeting on Wednesday, June 24.
“It is my privilege and honor to be able to vote in support of this historical employment agreement that appoints Mr. Michael Burrows as Executive Director,” said Supervisor Josie Gonzales, who serves as co-chair of the IVDA. “It is a milestone to have a young man of high stature and principles in such a leadership position guiding these agencies to new heights.”
During the term of the Agreement, Mr. Burrows, who has served as the Interim Executive Director for the past year, will continue to oversee all the administrative and operational matters of both IVDA and SBIAA organizations. In addition, he will be responsible for continuing and concluding the strategic goal planning process for each agency, which will form this basis for his annual evaluation.
“It is an honor and a privilege to lead these two agencies,” said Mike following the announcement of his appointment, “with the continued support of the Board and Commission, as well as our very talented staff, both agencies will continue in a positive direction.”
Burrows has played a significant role in developing both the airside and landside of the former Norton Air Force Base including working with Hillwood Corp. to attract major economic drivers including Stater Bros. and Amazon, as well as on the transfer of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Aviation Unit, expected for completion this fall.
This item will be on the IVDA July 8, 2015 regular meeting agenda for ratification as required by state law.
