SBD Mission Support

Comforting Companions for Stress-Free Travel at SBD

At San Bernardino International Airport, the Mission Support therapy dogs are more than just friendly faces—they are a vital part of the airport’s commitment to passenger well-being. These specially trained canines provide comfort and companionship to travelers navigating the stresses of air travel, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the terminal. With wagging tails and gentle demeanors, the Mission Support dogs embody the airport’s dedication to service, offering a calming presence that reflects both compassion and community spirit.

Their mission is simple yet powerful: to make every journey a little easier, one paw at a time.

Honoring Our Military Heritage

SBD Mission Support therapy dogs serve as a heartfelt tribute to the airport’s rich history as the former Norton Air Force Base. Named in honor of Leland Norton, a World War II hero, the base was once a hub of military activity and community resilience.

Today, the presence of these comforting canines symbolizes a continuation of that legacy—offering calm, care, and connection to travelers, much like the support and protection once provided by the military personnel stationed there. Their mission of emotional support echoes the airport’s enduring commitment to service, now transformed from military to air service for everyone.
